Research and development.Since 1981 we spend resources on research and development. While we do not concentrate in one area most topics are related to computer and network technology. Think higher programming languages, system technical applications like transaction processing systems, computer accounting systems, and also network components like routers and firewalls. Some examples are described in short below. Programming languages. In cooperation with Du Prie DP Engineering BV during many years we've researched and developed in the area of fourth generation programming languages. The DP2 product is one of the results of this work. Another research project aimed at better optimization of the generated object code for Fortran programs. The prototype supports a subset of the Fortran syntax but reach improvements of more than 50 percent compared to a certain commercial compiler. The improvements gained were less in memory footprint but more in CPU cycles. Data communication.Communication in heterogeneous networks needs expert knowledge of the higher level protocols of the network architecture. Research and development are a permanent must because of the continuously changes and expensions. The resulting knowledge and experience have been used in projects for customers and some of our products like theTP monitor MTPM, MOAP to connect remote printers to the mainframe and a Data Distribution System. Networks. The correct use of networks is not growing at the same speed as the numbers of installed networks. Most visible for some of us are the lack of security, stability, reliability and scalability. Perhaps because of the costs involved to reach these higher goals. The creation of correctly configured networks is dependent upon the knowledge of all protocols involved. Also in this area ongoing research and development is needed because of the always changing technology. But not only the technology is researched as especially security is more process . than technology oriented On the R & D page for Networks is more information to be found on this research and the resulting developments. |
